LAPIS (Liga ng mga Atheistang Pinoy Instructors at Students) and SIKAP (Samahang International ng mga Koalition ng mga Atheista ng Pilipinas) are international coalitions representing atheists of the Philippines across the globe. Founded on the principles of mutual respect, open-mindedness, the pursuit of truth, and equality in life, SIKAP / LAPIS unite pinoys from diverse backgrounds with a common purpose: to be The Global Voice of Atheism in the Philippines.
Its missions are as follows, as:
1. International Association:
- The alliance operates on an international scale, engaging in social, educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities.
- It brings together atheists, agnostics, rationalists, humanists, and non-conformists worldwide, fostering a sense of community and shared values.
2. Educational Organization:
- The organization advocates for the separation of church and state.
- It calls for religious tenets to either be taught objectively or completely banned in both public and private schools.
- Additionally, it opposes the use of religious symbols, icons, or images in government offices and other public contexts.
3. Humanitarian Society:
- Members serve as dedicated volunteers and ambassadors, promoting peace and education.
- Their efforts contribute to the betterment of society and the well-being of humanity.
4. Individual Contributions:
- Each member shares their skills, knowledge, and services for the community’s benefit.
- The collective goal: we strive for excellence and thrive to be men and women for others.
In summary, LAPIS / SIKAP represent a global network of atheists working together to advance their cause, uphold secular values, and contribute to a better world.
